Setup

  1. Attach your thermostat.

Align the thermostat onto the UWP and firmly snap it into place.

  2. Turn your power ON.

The following topics are for setting up on the thermostat. If using the First Alert App for setup, follow the onscreen instructions on your smart device.

New Installation

  1. After the thermostat has powered up, the display will prompt you to select the language and provide an option to connect wireless sensors. After these settings the display will ask if you want to do the setup using the app or on device (thermostat display).

  2. The X7 will ask questions about the type of system you have. If you are unsure of what type of system you have, refer to your heating/cooling system equipment literature or call an HVAC professional.

  3. The thermostat or app will exit the setup after any questions have been answered. If you entered the modify configuration menu and made changes after the initial setup, touch DONE to save those settings.

Revising Settings (Modify Configurations)

IMPROPER CONFIGURING OF YOUR THERMOSTAT CAN CAUSE UNINTENDED OPERATION OF YOUR HVAC SYSTEM WHICH COULD LEAD TO PROPERTY DAMAGE, INJURY, INCLUDING DEATH. IF YOU ARE UNSURE OF WHAT TYPE OF SYSTEM YOU HAVE, REFER TO YOUR HEATING/COOLING SYSTEM EQUIPMENT LITERATURE OR CALL AN HVAC PROFESSIONAL.

  1. After the initial setup is done, you can view or change settings by going to MENU-Advanced Settings-Modify configuration. To see a list of all setup parameters in the modify configuration menu, go to Modify Configuration Options section. The thermostat displays the setup name and options. There is a "more information" option available for most of these settings.

  2. Touch the Menu icon (in the lower left of display).

  3. Select Advanced Settings.

  4. Select Modify Configuration.
